RuffRuff Order Bonus

Check and register other channel identifiers

Learn how to add channels other than Draft Orders, Point of Sale, and Subscription apps to post-order gift distribution.

RuffRuff Order Bonus can also distribute gifts to orders created on sales channels such as the Shop app and Facebook & Instagram. Register channels other than Draft Orders, Point of Sale, and Subscription apps as "Other channel" with a display name and identifier.

The identifier is the value shown in the "Post-order gift" block on the target order.

For the overall post-order distribution setup, see "Distribute gifts after the order".

Orders other than online store orders are eligible, such as:

  • Sales channel app orders: Orders from the Shop app, Facebook & Instagram, TikTok Shop, and similar channels.

  • Orders created by external apps: Orders created through the API by apps such as order management apps or Shopify Flow.

Draft Orders, Point of Sale, and Subscription apps can be selected from the channel options, so they do not need to be registered as "Other channel". Online Store is configured in its own row.

Identifiers look like the following (values observed in September 2026).

Caution: An identifier is defined by the app that provides the channel, and it can change when that app changes it. Do not enter the examples above; check the value shown on an order from that channel.

Check the following two points before you register a channel.

  • Eligible gifts: Simple gifts and repeatable gifts priced at 0. Choice gifts do not have channel settings.

  • App settings: Enable "Distribute gifts after the order" under Settings → Automation in the app admin. While it is disabled, "Other channel" cannot be selected.

Step 1 Add the "Post-order gift" block to order details

The identifier is shown in the "Post-order gift" block on the order details page in Shopify admin. Adding the block is required only to display the information; it is not a condition for distributing gifts.

(1) In Shopify admin, open any order detail

(2) At the bottom of the page, select "+ Block" from "Blocks"

(3) From the app block list, select "Post-order gift" and add it

(4) Select the pin icon on the added block to pin it

(5) Select "Save"

Caution: If you do not pin the block, it will not appear the next time you open the page.

Open an order created on the channel you want to register, and check the identifier in the "Post-order gift" block.

(1) Open an order created on the target channel

In Shopify admin, go to Orders and open an order created on the channel you want to register.

(2) Check the channel shown in the "Post-order gift" block

It appears as "Channel: Display name (identifier)". The value in parentheses is the identifier.

  • Orders without a distributed gift: The channel is shown even for orders that were never evaluated.

  • Orders shown without parentheses: These are Online Store, Draft Orders, Point of Sale, or Subscription apps orders. Select them from the channel options instead of registering them as "Other channel".

Caution: Use the identifier exactly as shown. If you register a guessed value, the app cannot match the order.

Add the identifier you checked to the gift campaign you want to target.

(1) Open the campaign

In the app admin, open "Gifts" and select the simple gift or repeatable gift campaign.

(2) Select "Add channel"

Select "Add channel" at the bottom of "Distribution method by channel".

(3) Select "Other channel" and enter the values

Enter a "Display name" and an "Identifier".

  • Display name: Enter any name. It is used only for the row label.

  • Identifier: Enter the value you checked in step 2. The app matches orders by this value.

  • If "This identifier has already been added." appears: The same identifier is already registered in this campaign. It cannot be added twice.

(4) Select "Add" and save

"Add" becomes available once both the display name and the identifier are entered. After adding the channel, save the campaign.

  • Row display: The added row shows "Display name (identifier)".

  • Distribution method: The row shows "After the order (not added to cart; added after the order)".

  • Matching: An order is eligible when its channel information matches the registered identifier exactly. Matching is case-sensitive.

  • To exclude a channel: Select "Remove channel" on that row.

If no channels are set, the campaign does not distribute gifts to any orders.

First, check that you added and pinned the "Post-order gift" block as described in step 1.

If the block is shown but no channel row appears, the app could not retrieve the order's channel information. Contact us through the contact form instead of guessing the identifier.

"Distribute gifts after the order" is disabled in the app settings. Enable it under Settings → Automation in the app admin and save.

Check that the registered identifier matches the identifier shown on the order details. Matching the display name alone does not make an order eligible.

For other causes, see "Gift Not Being Distributed".

  • An identifier for another channel may change when its provider app adopts Shopify's channel information system, for example.

  • For this reason, the app does not offer preset identifiers for these channels. Check the value shown on an order from that channel and register it.

If this still doesn't solve the issue, contact us through the contact form.

When you contact us, include the following.

  • Order number and the channel the order came from

  • Information shown in the "Post-order gift" block

  • Campaign name and the identifier you registered

  • Whether "Distribute gifts after the order" is enabled

  • Checks you have already completed
